Vision therapy is a non-surgical and customized program of eye exercises and activities designed to strengthen the eyes. Vision therapy aims to teach the visual system to correct itself. Its effectiveness isn’t just limited to adults — it’s for kids too! Training of the visual system has been shown to be effective for eye fatigue, headaches, double vision tracking or reading problems and letter reversals. Studies show that 1 in 10 children have a vision problem severe enough to detriment their learning and up to 50% of school vision screenings can miss these problems. Overall, the goal of vision therapy is to treat vision problems that cannot be treated successfully with eyeglasses, contact lenses and/or surgery alone, and help people achieve clear, comfortable vision.
